A few hundred yards above the powerful Gabbro Falls is a small set of rapids that barely warrant a name. Neepikon Falls is a small collection of rocks and ledges that form a few minor disturbances in the river's flow. It is a somewhat difficult and annoying hike with little payoff.
Directions
Take Blackjack Road north from US-2 (which is located about 3 miles east of Bessemer) for a mile. Stop at the first cleared route across the road, the one with a natural gas station on the right side of the road, and start walking west down to the river. Before reaching the river there is an overgrown path leading to the left into the woods that will shortcut some bushwhacking - take that until you hear some rapids. During warmer months the cleared route and woods can be very overgrown compared to the more popular Gabbro Falls downstream.
