Unlike it's brother to the west Ravine River is not located in a deep gorge or have dozens of named and unnamed waterfalls. Instead, this river holds a modest set of small drops stretching near Roland Lake that are collectively called Ravine River Falls. None of the drops are anything more than a rolling plunge over hard slate rock.
Directions
Take Skanee Road out of L'Anse, driving about 15 miles before turning right at the Zion Lutheran Church onto Roland Lake Road. Follow this south for 3.4 miles, a short distance past the lake, and park at the small clearing on the right side of the road. Head into the woods, bearing left, to find the river and falls. The hike is not long but the woods are confusing, with old logging activity leaving a maze of interweaving trails and ruts behind.
